Job Title: Assistant Manager

Function: EY Knowledge   

Sub Function: Business Insights, Strategic Intelligence 

 

Job Summary:

This position is designated as Assistant Manager in the EY Knowledge Business Insights function at GDS and is housed in the Strategic Intelligence (SI) team within the Global Markets domain. Strategic Intelligence team works directly under the steer of Global Strategy leadership and works on high impact projects for the GPG group. The position delivers high quality, impactful research & analysis projects that enables internal customers to build client relationships, win pursuits, deliver on engagements, and strengthen the brand and reputation of EY.

 

In this role, the analyst would provide points of view, insights, and recommendations/key points for consideration in their deliverables and manage the entire project lifecycle, right from ideation to delivery. The projects are in accordance with EY’s global priorities. These priorities cover analyzing competitor’s financial reporting, understanding competitor’s inorganic growth strategy, triangulation of competitor insights through a blend of secondary and primary intelligence, delivering impactful market and competitor analysis and actionable insights. Understanding and experience of creating Power BI dashboards will be helpful. The analyst will work directly with senior Global SI stakeholders with a high degree of autonomy and minimal supervision. The analyst must be comfortable being a thought partner to the business, advising senior stakeholders, driving business relationships, presenting to senior audiences, and interfacing with stakeholders and internal customers at different levels of seniority.

 

Key aspects of this role include:

  • Provides clear analytical insight and understanding of EY’s global priorities, with responsibility for the execution of initiatives based on a detailed knowledge of dynamics and drivers of the professional services business
  • Engages with SI stakeholders and internal customers to provide a big-picture perspective on the issues, challenges and opportunities facing the professional services landscape and prepares insightful analysis on the impact of those trends for EY and its clients.
  • May take part / participate in client meetings, roundtables, and other events to support SI leadership and strengthen EY’s presence and reputation in the market.
  • Builds strong relationships within solutions/service lines/markets and collaborates with senior EY leadership to bring research, analysis and insights that support business development activities and service delivery to clients
  • Identifies cross-domain Point of View (POV) sharing opportunities and collaborates with other domain teams on issues that cut across EY’s business activities.
  • Acts as a role model within EY Knowledge and SI and positively influences change by leading by example; championing knowledge-sharing behaviors; connecting people; encouraging enterprise-wide sharing; and appropriately leveraging and reusing existing collateral.

 

Key Requirements:

Education:

  • MBA/Master’s degree or postgraduate qualification preferable

 

Experience:

  • Minimum 4-6 years of experience in strategy, business analysis, industry research, management consulting or business performance, advising organizations in the relevant domain.
  • Proven ability to apply outstanding oral and written communication skills and strong analytical skills to deliver well written points of view.
  • Ability to explain difficult concepts in a clear, concise, and graphic-rich style, using analytics and visualization tools.
  • Brings deep prior experience professional services market and Competitive Intelligence.
  • Comfortable working with and interfacing with senior stakeholders and internal customers at different levels of seniority.
  • Collaborative and able to work well as part of a geographically dispersed multidisciplinary and multicultural project team.
  • Ability to take ownership for delivering customized projects with a degree of autonomy; adept at leading several projects simultaneously.
  • Advanced skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams, Power BI. Good experience with large sets of data. Experience with data modelling, data analytics, and various data management tools.
  • Experience of or eagerness to learn skills supporting in-organic growth projects, including competitor’s acquisitions and alliances strategy.
  • Comfortable with occasional travel and working flexible hours, across multiple time zones.

  • Ability to synthesize and analyze information coherently and succinctly. Able to bring together a variety of perspectives and sources across the domain to deliver compelling analysis that supports business priorities.
  • Ability to lead complex engagements/ projects and deliver outstanding quality results in complex and challenging environments.
  • Ability to actively support innovation, new ways of thinking, the development of new ideas, and continuous improvements to existing ways of working
  • Confident in understanding multiple business drivers and talented at defining the root causes of trends.
  • Capable at identifying issues and trends that translate into key market-facing initiatives and opportunities for EY.
  • Demonstrates ability to use both qualitative and quantitative research and analysis methodologies, including financial analysis skills, to synthesize information, review data inputs and provide analytic insights
  • Adept at using strategically sound analytical methodologies and capable at coaching less-experienced team members to improve their skills in research, analysis, data analytics and visualization.
  • Understands the firm’s go-to-market strategy and service delivery models, how core business services support the service lines, and how knowledge enables exceptional client service and high performing teams.
