As a member of Salesforce’s Technology Legal team, you will assist with legal initiatives related to our AI products, models, and technologies. You’ll be responsible for working closely with our research, engineering, and product teams in the development of cutting-edge products and services. In this role, you will: 

• Serve as an integral part of the business teams that you support to help launch and continually improve AI products and services. 

• Identify and address product, regulatory, privacy, and other legal risks and mitigations. 

• Develop strategies for handling legal issues in creative ways and build processes for scaling flexible solutions that address risk. 

• Coordinate with internal policy, privacy, and other stakeholders on a variety of internal/external policy and regulatory matters

• Manage research with outside counsel on sensitive topics

• Collaborate effectively with other team members and Legal teams on cross-functional strategic projects

• Become an expert in AI legal matters and help propose and advance AI legal policy positions.

Required Skills/Experience

• Undergraduate degree and law degree.

• State Bar membership.

• 5-7 years law firm and/or in-house transactional experience.

• Experience in product counseling in privacy, policy, and intellectual property issues, preferably within artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML).

• Experience in intellectual property, privacy, and contract law

• Ability to understand technical issues and communicate effectively with executives and product leads

• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills

• Interest in immersion into a fast-paced, high-profile, and intellectually challenging environment

• Excellent written and oral communication and negotiation skills.

• Highly responsive and collaborative attitude.

• Ability to prioritize and handle competing matters.

• Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal business partners.

• Ability to identify, evaluate and provide risk-appropriate solutions to the business based on sound and practical legal and business judgment.

Beneficial Skills/Experience

• Experience supporting AI research or similar initiatives.

• Experience working within a fast-paced global technology company or similar industry.

For Washington-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $172,500 to $237,200.

For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $172,500 to $237,200.

Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
