Amazon Games is looking for a Director of Production to partner with our leadership team to oversee and manage the studio and develop an online multiplayer game based on a new IP. You have experience managing complex large-scale videogame projects and can take on mandates focused on a wide range of topics including production, technology and studio management. You are able to think strategically and set ambitious goals for the team, while preserving a keen appreciation for the importance of rolling up your sleeves when appropriate. You have demonstrated experience in building inventive and successful games, and thoughtfully informed ideas about where the games industry is going and how future games will be built, published, and operated. Key job responsibilities
- Partner with the leadership team to craft the vision for the studio and set ambitious goals for the studio and the game
- Partner with the Talent & Studio Operations Director to create an exceptional development environment for the team
- Manage the relationships with external partners, including publishing partners and outsourcing vendors
- Develop and maintain a set of KPIs to assess and track studio progress
- In partnership with the finance team, establish a budget for the studio and game, and maintain the P&L
- Take on mandates in production and with publishing as needed
- Facilitate technology decisions for the game and studio
- Collaborate with the Production Director to identify and implement production best practices and methodologies
- Take an active role in the recruiting process, the development of the team and the growth of the studio
- Coach, support and mentor producers, leads and managers on the team

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Irvine, CA, USA

Basic Qualifications:

- 10+ years of Games Industry (supporting title Development, Release, or Live Ops) experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Industry Experience (15+ years)
- 10+ years of games industry experience
- 7+ years in a product development role
- Shipped at least one AAA game through product development cycle

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience leading the production of a AAA title start to ship
- Experience in a studio role or supporting / advising studio leadership
- Experience in managing a team of Producers and collaborating across all disciplines
- Leadership in evaluating, understanding and integrating various production methods and approaches
- Experience in a technical role, and managing tech teams
- Exceptional communication skills

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $170,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $350,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
