Job Description

  • Supervise and plan for equipment / die maintenance, launch activities and projects 
  • Manage salary and hourly employees across a three-shift stamping operation
  • Lead a safety culture that enforces safe workplace safety rules and policies
  • Positively influence our Organizational Culture by modelling a commitment to GM’s Culture
  • Accountability in driving toward and achieving desired business results
  • Manage overtime and headcount as required
  • Responsible for diagnosis of machinery & die equipment malfunctions
  • Utilization of Bill of Operations (BoO) documents to drive Process Control Plans
  • Manage cost accounts for department of responsibility
  • Lead Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS) processes, coaching GLs and TMs in process
  • Ensure GMS principles are deployed, understood and effective 
  • Lead/Participate BPD process and identify opportunities for improvement using layered audits and practical problem solving
  • Models GM’s cultural behaviors and always demonstrates the highest level of integrity
  • Utilizing adequate JIT (Job Instruction Training) to qualify GLs, TLs
  • Frequent contact with others outside the work group
  • Establishes a course of action to accomplish completion of the job and/or project (Die corrections, Continuous Improvement items & EWOs)
  • Coordinates input from internal/external customers to better understand customer needs
  • Lead Projects with team to improve Harbour Index Metric and MEI
  • Actively identifies new areas for learning and takes advantage of learning opportunities
  • Motivates direct reports and/or business partners through effective communication, training, coaching, development, and recognition
  • Understanding of Argus/Sheet Metal Formability – Lead team in proactive approach and best practices in formability; engaging TMs in Problem Solving and creating action plans for improvement

Skills and Abilities:

 - Lead OpEx & Six Sigma Projects

- Ability to Implement Process Control Plans

- High level of analytical ability where problems are complex

- Ability to interpret blueprints, engineering drawings and Unigraphics

- Knowledge of basic math, geometry and trigonometry

 - High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others

- High level of oral and written communication skills

- Knowledge of mechanical concepts

 - Demonstrated technical and professional skills in job-related area

- Knowledge of and ability to effectively use computer software programs

- Education and/or Training Technical bachelor’s degree or Technical Associates with equivalent experience. At least 5 years of die making experience required.

This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Marion on a full-time basis.
