Job Description

Work Arrangement:

Remote: The position does not require an employee to be onsite full-time to perform most effectively. The employee's role enables them to work off-site on a permanent basis.

The Role:

The Data Insights Specialist will assist the Warranty and Technical Services departments with identifying key trends and data insights to assist with process improvements! Reporting directly to the National Manager of Warranty Administration & Technical Services, part of our Customer Care and Aftersales division, you will work closely with the managers and analysts in several Customer Care & Aftersales departments. This position is a true cross functional learning opportunity!

An analytic skill set is required for this position to assist with outlining common themes with multiple data sets. You will also be heavily involved with policies and procedures regarding corporate and dealership service operations. The ideal candidate would have a technical/mechanical interest or knowledge as well.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize industry standard (Databricks) based technologies to develop dashboards

  • Provide insights pertaining to various data sets, and recommendations and trending analysis

  • Support the creation of tools to automate data collection and reporting

  • Develop machine learning based algorithms to predict future emerging trends and issues

  • Active in support of the day-to-day business operations

  • Active in and lead special projects

Additional Job Description

Required Qualifications:

  • Pursuit of a Bachelor's degree (2nd, 3rd, and 4th year students) or Master's degree in one of the following areas: Engineering, Mathematics, Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering

  • Able to work fulltime, 40 hours per week in Canada, and for 8-month term (2 consecutive semesters) starting May 2024 

  • Highly developed analytical skills in order to contribute in the investigations and business decisions

  • Competency with understanding, writing, and debugging code in various development languages

  • Ability to work independently, navigate multiple systems and develop solutions

What will give you a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Database/system skills (Hue, Greenplum, Python, SQL, Databricks, etc)

  • Familiar with automotive terms and technical knowledge

  • Completed courses in statistics and/or machine learning

Compensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable provincial laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of British Columbia, Prince Edward Island, or Nova Scotia. 

  • The salary range for this role is $4,100-$5,000 per month. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
