Job Description

This role is categorized as Hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Austin, TX, Warren, MI, or Roswell, GA 3 times per week, at minimum (or other frequency dictated by the business).

The Role:

The Cloud Security Architect will be a key individual contributor responsible for designing and implementing robust security measures for our cloud-based systems. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cloud technologies, strong expertise in security best practices, and a proven track record of implementing effective security solutions in a cloud environment

What You'll Do:

​Architectural Design: Design and implement secure cloud architectures, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our systems and data. Including but not limited to:

  • Cloud Infrastructure Security
  • Identity and Access Management (IAM)
  • Data Encryption
  • Container Security
  • Network Security
  • Security Automation
  • Security by Design
  • Cloud Service Integration
  • Documentation
  • Collaboration
  • Emerging Technologies

Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability assessments for cloud-based systems, identifying potential security threats and developing mitigation strategies.

Security Policies: Develop and enforce cloud security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal security requirements.

Incident Response: Participate in incident response efforts related to cloud security incidents, working closely with the IT and security teams to investigate and resolve incidents promptly.

Security Audits: Conduct regular security audits of cloud environments to identify and address potential issues.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications): 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in cloud security architecture, with a proven track record of designing and implementing security solutions in cloud environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Strong understanding of encryption, identity and access management, and network security in cloud environments.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Advanced certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), or AWS Certified Security Specialty are a plus.
