Job Description

This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to GM Global Technical Center- Cadillac Tower three times per week, at minimum.

Global Sales Reporting and Foundational and Dealer Contractual Systems are GM’s gold sources for our dealer network, dealer contracting, vehicle delivery & sales, and vehicle inventory.

Our team owns systems and processes that:

  • Manages our dealer distribution network – Locations, their investors, floor planning, other.
  • Stores our dealer sales & service agreement – what vehicles dealers can/cannot sell and service.
  • Communicates global sales counting – GM, our competitors, Joint Ventures, others.
  • Supports internal and external delivery & stock performance reporting – Information used within GM, sent to government entities (i.e. Securities Exchange Commission), our investors.
  • Maintains vehicle information – VINs, sales history.
  • Manages key analytic reporting tools.
  • Entry point for our customer’s data.

As a Member of our Team, You Will

  • Elicits, analyzes, specifies, and validates the business needs and requirements from stakeholders.
  • Understand in using various techniques to collect requirements, e.g., focus/facilitated groups, prototyping, etc.
  • Assists with the interpretation of customer requirements into feasible options and communicating these back to the business.
  • Develop features and user stories to document business requirements, prepare user acceptance test plans, and support technology deployments.
  • Be the liaison between business area and IT systems development.
  • Understand business requirements and acceptance criteria to perform a logical test to prove the functionality.
  • Design and maintain re-usable test cases and test strings to confirm new functionality for current and future testing.
  • Create a comprehensive test plan to test all developed requirements in a sprint.
  • Provide and maintain clear status in reporting during UAT for responsibility, escalation, and execution.
  • Prepare and maintain validation evidence of test status through screen shots and test case progression.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the business via documentation, training, and workshops to understand business and IT partner objectives, pain-points, and opportunities, and translating them into world class processes and technology enablers.
  • Support communications and alignment with main business users and project stakeholder.
  • Develop and present training materials.
  • Develop formulas and calculations for key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Collaborate across workstreams to implement data standards and process improvements leveraging digital solutions.
  • Update and maintain operations process, desk procedures and other documentation.
  • Collaborate globally and cross-functionally with various partners across different business functions to understand business processes.

Additional Job Description

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, IT, or related field is preferred
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in business analysis, process transformation, consulting, or project management
  • Understanding of GM field and dealership operations for both sales and service operations, Dealership Operating Report, GM Dealership Standard Accounting, and the GM Dealer Sales and Service Agreement is preferred
  • Demonstrated proven ability to work cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders in business analysis role
  • Demonstrated proven ability to elicit business requirements
  • Detail oriented and strong business acumen, with ability to interpret quantitative & qualitative dealership financial data, and articulate business needs to evolve and modernize solutions
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications with emphasis on MS Excel complex formulas development and MS PowerPoint presentations
  • Experience with Agile / Scrum project framework is preferable.
  • Experience in managing end-to-end test cycles
  • Experience in developing training materials and conducting training is preferable.
  • Experience in Power BI is preferable
  • Highly motivated and willing to learn and take on new challenges
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
