The Opportunity

Frame.io, an Adobe Company, is changing the future of how videos are made by helping over 1 million creative professionals seamlessly collaborate from all over the world. We have built a product creatives recognize and admire through constant innovation and incredible attention to detail.

We're looking for an experienced Design Manger on our Desktop team to help us push the boundaries of what's possible in a creative collaboration experience. In this role, you'll support the growth, contributions, and happiness of several extraordinary product designers. You'll also partner with product management, engineering, and research to make sure we continue to innovate and hold the bar high in our product experiences.

This is a role for a people-focused manager who loves craft and can roll up their sleeves to support their team. You'll think equally about how to grow designers on your team, the strategic direction of our product, and the process we follow to make outstanding software. You should possess excellent UX design thinking, strong aesthetic judgement, and a genuine desire to help others grow. Your teams' work will inspire delight every time a customer uses Frame.io.

What you'll Do

  • Coach and mentor designers. You will attract design talent to the team, hire, grow, retain and promote designers.
  • Provide creative vision and direction to your team. You will think strategically and always keep the user's needs in mind.
  • Offer aesthetic guidance and uphold our design standards. Frame.io prides itself on extraordinary design quality.
  • Work with other managers across design, product, and engineering to drive strategy, process, and align team objectives.
  • Represent your team and your teams’ work to executives and leaders within Frame.io and Adobe.

What you need to succeed

  • 2+ years of management experience and 7+ years of user experience design experience
  • Strong strategic and UX systems thinking
  • An outstanding aesthetic sense and ability to provide creative direction
  • A sense for process that promotes clarity, predictability, and accountability
  • Ability to understand customer needs, build empathy across your team, and use research in the design process
  • A strong portfolio that showcases thoughtful, high-craft work as a creative director and designer yourself
  • Excellent story-telling and presentation skills
  • Understanding and mastery of the latest design and collaboration tools
  • Experience with video, content, and NLEs is a plus
