Job Description

Join General Motors (GM) dynamic Human Resources team and be a key partner in driving HR innovation. Shape the future of HR by collaborating on day-to-day activities and strategic initiatives that align with GM’s objectives, mission, and culture. Reporting directly to the HR Manager, this role supports HR and Stakeholders across the business to ensure effective delivery of people management strategies and strategic objectives aligning with the business goals.

1. Strategic Partnership:

  • Act as the primary HR point of contact and strategic partner for assigned business functions in Ireland and/or the UK.
  • Collaborate with Global Business Leaders to integrate HR strategy into overall business strategy, considering external factors.

2. Employee Engagement:

  •  Create a personalized HR experience by addressing employee and leader queries, concerns, and promoting general engagement.
  • Guide and support leaders with teams in Ireland and the UK, ensuring policy and legal compliance.

3.    Leadership Coaching:

  • Coach and counsel leaders on various HR matters, such as employee

relations, engagement, policy compliance, and performance management.

Provide trusted HR advisory services to foster a positive work environment.

4.    Global Collaboration:

  • Partner with global HR teams to ensure consistency, alignment, and compliance in HR practices.
  •  Analyze attrition data and collaborate with Business HR to develop recommendations for continuous improvement.

5.    Employee Relations and Compliance:

  • Manage employee relations, investigations, disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, and performance improvement plans.
  •  Ensure fair and consistent practices, complying with legal requirements.

6.    Operational Support:

  • Engage in day-to-day operational activities, including onboarding, payroll information, absence management, and various HR projects.
  • Lead and support local, regional, and global HR projects as required.

7.    HR Projects and Initiatives:

  • Support initiatives related to employee engagement, culture, training & development, health & safety, and other relevant areas.
  • Stay informed about HR trends and legal requirements, providing recommendations for policy updates.

8.    Training and Development:

  • Facilitate or provide training on various HR topics, including orientation, career development discussions, talent language, skills improvement, and global HR strategies.

Requirements;

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in HR field.
  • CIPD qualified is advantageous.
  • Minimum 7 years of HR Business Partner experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships across cultures.
  • Strong strategic thinking, negotiation, and execution skills.
  •  Excellent people management and IT skills.
  •  Expertise in Irish employment and labor law; UK law knowledge is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated experience in HR policy and procedure development and compliance.
  • Robust HR reporting and analysis experience
