Job Description

This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to GM Global Technical Center- Cadillac Tower three times per week, at minimum.

GM is developing an all-new Digital Retail Platform (DRP) that delivers an omnichannel learning, shopping, and buying experience that enables customers to buy or lease their next EV or ICE vehicle 100% online, 100% in-store or any point in between.  This posting is for the Assistant Manager, Digital Retail Platform (DRP) - Partner Integrations. 

The Assistant Product Manager reports to the Partner Integrations Manager – Digital Retail Platform.  The role supports the strategy, development, and implementation of integrations into the DRP from external 3rd party systems such as Dealer Management Systems (DMS) and Customer Relationship Management Systems (CRM) as well as internal GM system.  This person will act as a product owner for the integrations while driving alignment with internal GM stakeholders, 3rd party vendor partners, divisional objectives, and brand strategies. 

Example responsibilities could include:

  • Manage DRP integration projects and enhancements including project prioritization and management, ensuring product satisfies defined business requirements, and coordinating with GMIT and vendor partners to ensure projects are delivered on time.
  • Act as project lead for multi-vendor iterative projects driving schedules, timelines, and deliverables from all partners.  Represent business in technical discussions and ensure business requirements are prioritized appropriately.
  • Act as a single point of contact for any issues related to DRP integrations and work with GMIT and vendor partners to address issues.
  • Working with GMIT and vendor partners to provide direction on future enhancements.
  • Collaborate with the broader DRP team, Digital, Data and Dealer Operations team, GMIT, and other enterprise stakeholders as needed to understand and form integration requirements and ensure systems work together seamlessly. 
  • Collaborate with GM Dealers and Dealer partners to understand the dealer processes and behaviors and drive innovation into the dealer experience in the DRP.
  • Ensuring projects are completed as originally scoped.
  • Providing technical insight where needed.
  • Flexibility to pitch in on other projects as needed.
  • Support the day-to-day operations related to dealer sales forms.
  • Support the GM data requirements of the DRP and drive innovation to streamline DRP processes as well as troubleshooting issues and reacting to GM data changes.
  • Support the development and execution of the DRP Product Roadmap – allowing the team to innovate within the e-Commerce space and deliver cutting edge technology for our customers and dealers.
  • Enhance the Dealer Sales Cloud to improve the dealer experience (DX).  This includes intuitive use, settings, and automating systems to streamline and expedite the dealer processes.
  • Develop processes and work flows to streamline the dealer experience, and drive efficiencies.
  • Support preparation and facilitation of GM internal leadership and brand reviews including business updates and demonstrations.
  • Support relationship management of vendor partners and provide constructive feedback to maintain relations, productivity, and performance.
  • Seek and act on feedback from GM dealer representative bodies and other knowledgeable dealer network SMEs to improve platform effectiveness, build dealer network support and advocacy, and drive adoption and utilization.
  • Partner with other Dealer Innovation and Strategy team members to integrate and enable other retail business models and customer experience imperatives through the platform.

Background/Experiences

  • 5+ years of marketing, digital and/or technology experience required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, IT, or other related focus.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to communicate with multiple levels within an organization.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with changing priorities.
  • Adaptive to change and energized by leading new business initiatives.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with diverse stakeholders and senior leaders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to comprehend technical concepts.
  • Experience with vendor management.
  • OEM experience and understanding of automotive and dealership.
  • Knowledge of Dealer Management Systems (DMS), Customer Relationship Management Systems (CRM) and Dealership sales processes preferred.
  • Knowledge of GM vehicle data and systems that support and process that data preferred.
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio, & Project).
  • Ability to work productively in a team environment.
