Job Description:

The Character Art Intern is responsible for producing character artwork for both two-dimensional and/or three-dimensional product applications. Works on projects at all levels of complexity with the team. Works under general supervision. Meets deadlines under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Development of character illustrations for style guides and portfolios across multiple properties and cross divisions.
• Idea generation for Franchise Expansion
• Art style/new technique development to co-ordinate with trends in the marketplace
• Contribute to new product ideas and participate in brainstorming sessions.
• Responsible for maintaining high character art standards for the region.
• Develop a strong character art community across GPC
• Understands Disney Characters and Disney storytelling and how it translates to products.
• Fresh and inventive creative thinker
• Understanding and Awareness of marketplace trends
• Able to present creative concepts in both formal and informal settings.
• Strong team player

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Art and Design
• 1+ years of related work experience in graphic design, character art, or merchandise design
• Understand the principles of cartooning and cartoon animation.
• Exposure to multiple mediums (sculpting, painting, and drawing)
• Base knowledge of Character Art
• Strong traditional and digital drawing skills and concept skills.
• Pro-active / Can-do attitude
• Strong creative computer skills (Adobe Illustrator/Adobe Photoshop)

VP and Director of Graphic Design and branding, VP and Director of Art and Story, Operations, Production, Packaging, Product Design, Brand Merchandising, Licensing, Franchise, and Retail.
