Job Description:

Disney Parks Experiences and Products organization is looking for a Graphic Design Intern to support the Retail Creative Team. This position will report to the Retail Creative Manager.

Responsibilities

• Support the Retail Creative team in the design, production, and implementation of storewide graphic packages to support over 300 retail locations as part of Disney Parks Experiences and Products
• Create environmental graphics to support new film and product strategies while adhering to established brand standards
• Support the Retail Creative team in executing site-specific and global graphic packages
• Coordinate fabrication of 2D or layered graphics with vendors in a timely manner while adhering to specifications and maintaining a high standard of quality
• Support the Global Retail Sign Program with updates as needed
• Responsible for preparing mechanical files, printing, and fabrication of designs
• Coordinate and support the production and installation of Retail Creative park initiatives.

Basic Qualifications

• 0-1 year of professional graphic design experience
• Must provide a graphic design portfolio that demonstrates knowledge in composition, hierarchy, and color theory as well as a clear understanding of typography and layout
• Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe creative suite with emphasis on Illustrator and Photoshop
• Proficiency in Microsoft office suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Must be comfortable in a hands-on production environment with a high attention to detail
• Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to handle multiple projects with short deadlines
• Ability to articulate conceptual and design decisions
• Ability to give and receive feedback on a regular basis
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Must be willing to work early mornings and/or late nights as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-2 years of graphic design experience (Senior – Recent grad preferred)
• Experience working in a graphic production environment
• Familiarity with project management software
• Previous knowledge of or desire to learn new software as needed to further support the needs of the organization (i.e. motion graphics, 3D modeling, etc)

Required Education

• Currently enrolled in (or within 6 months of graduation date) an accredited university studying Graphic Design, Environmental Design, Interior Design, or similar creative field
