The Worldwide Sustainability (WWS) team capitalizes on Amazon’s scale, speed, and ability to invent and simplify to create a better and more resilient company. Our Sustainable Selection team at Amazon to drive sustainability improvements to the products we sell. We aim to uphold a high bar for product sustainability, enabling partner teams to demonstrate credibility and earn customer trust.

We are looking for a Program Manager to support ongoing projects within the team, including assessing and/or building robust sustainability certifications, and providing subject matter expertise relevant to sustainable shopping initiatives.

This individual should have a background in sustainability and/or environmental science. A strong aptitude with data, research, and program management. In addition, a demonstrated history of getting projects across the line.


Key job responsibilities
• Support sustainability experts on project management, research/literature reviews, certification assessment and/or development

• Create and implement workflows and mechanisms to build, update, and track against working timelines and project plans

• Manage communication of projects and updates across stakeholder groups

• Manage incoming requests systematically

• Proactively work to enhance or evolve our team's process efficiency and effectiveness

• Identify trends across multidisciplinary teams, and define a programmatic roadmap to address findings

Basic Qualifications:

- 4+ years of program or project management experience
- 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience
- Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
- Bachelor's degree in science or equivalent
- 3+ years experience working in driving improvements across sustainability- or environmental science-related areas

Preferred Qualifications:

- 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
- 3+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
- Experience building processes, project management, and schedules

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $59,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
