Job Description

The global FORI (Finance Operations Risk Intelligence) Compliance and Governance Services team supports our Amazon Finance Operations businesses around the world. We are seeking a passionate, self-motivated and organized professional to lead and timely deliver and report on data governance related activities, at global level. This role combines stakeholder management, data governance and requires the ability to quickly understand and explore various business processes, clearly communicate key findings and recommendations to our senior leadership and quickly and timely deliver bar raising data governance products, to further increase controllership.

The role will work with a cross-functional team of software developers, technical and IT teams, compliance and legal teams, and closely partner with other data governance Amazon leads, driving data governance initiatives, while balancing cost and customers goals and expectations.

Key job responsibilities
- Update/create, based on analysis and feedback, and, then, deploy data governance policies/controls/standards
- Provide guidance (including to first line of defence) to increase controllership and enhance compliance with Amazon data governance policies and regulations
- Ensure that all data processing, collecting and/or storing or implementations of any technologies are done in accordance with legal requirements and internal Amazon policies, across the globe
- Interface with data owners to document the current scope of Finance Operations tools, establish and deliver desired future state, in compliance with legal requirements and policies, and help develop and deliver, timely, strategic projects to achieve those ambitions
- Serve as primary day-to-day contact for regional/global data governance issues, for Finance Operations
- Partner with peers in the company data governance group, tech team, AWS, Public Policy, Amazon Legal, HR and other internal stakeholders to ensure consistency
- Responsible for documentation and implementation of Finance Operations business processes, programs and standard operations related to data governance and maintenance
- Promote a culture of compliance, proactively engaging peers and stakeholders across business, operations, and technology teams to educate on data compliance requirements across the globe
- Prepare reports to senior compliance stakeholders with timely and actionable deliverables concerning global Finance Operations data governance compliance programs

Basic Qualifications:

- BA/BS or equivalent
- Significant experience in data governance and compliance global programs

Preferred Qualifications:

- Knowledge of data management and data quality in a global environment, including data life-cycle and maintenance processes
- Exceptional English written and verbal communication skills and ability to translate complex issues for consumption by technical and non-technical audiences
- Proven added-value on data governance related matters
