Your Role and Responsibilities
Looking for QA Automation Engineer to join our fast-paced Agile Test Engineering team in IBM Aspera who can take ownership of helping build automation and testing that will ensure high quality releases. Incumbent in this position is an experienced, hands on and self-motivated engineer who can work collaboratively in a continuous integration environment.

You will work directly with both Software Development Engineers and Quality Assurance Engineers to understand project features, review, and implement automation using existing frameworks and tools that will help deliver quality features with efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• As a product expert you will also be involved with support case escalations occasionally, and take part in the L3 on-call weekly rotation.
• Understand customer configurations - Debug, reproduce, verify fixes and add new test cases for issues uncovered in customer deployments.
• Verify endurance and scale testing to validate robust feature functionality under stress.
• Develop and maintain test automation and framework.
• You will also have the chance to work on different public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, IBM COS) to automate tests and orchestration.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• 6+ Years of expertise as a Software Development Engineer in Test in debugging test failures and test automation environments, analyzing test results, and guiding team on ways to improve coverage in continuous environment.
• Experience in QA methodology and tools, experience in a role testing complex software systems.
• Strong scripting abilities (e.g. Python, Ruby, Shell) and proficient in test automation using scripting or high-level languages (e.g., Python, Ruby, JavaScript) – Ruby and RSpec preferred.
• Experience with automation and performance testing for RESTful APIs or SaaS offering.
• Proficiency in CI/CD practices and tools, such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOp

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Experience with working in different cloud service providers: IBM Cloud or AWS or Google or Azure
• Experience in testing container technologies (Docker, Chef, Kubernetes) is a huge plus
• Experience running testing on multiple OS - Linux, Windows, Mac
• Experience in Agile or Scrum Software Development methodologies
• Experience in UNIX-based systems for debugging, analysis, and automation utilizing virtual machines
