Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Security Analyst at NS1, an IBM Company, you will be responsible for triage of critical security threats, performing incident response functions, and analyzing vulnerabilities identified. The role will report directly to the Head of Security for the NS1 business unit and work closely with other members of the information security team as well as engineering.

In this role you will be responsible for the following:
  • Continuously monitor and improve the security posture of the company using various Computer Network Defense (CND), Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM), and Vulnerability Management Tools.
  • Conduct tier 1 & 2 triage of security alerts and data from sensors and documents formal, technical incident reports.
  • Analyze data from threat and vulnerability feeds and analyze data for applicability to the organization.
  • Participate in response to security incidents as a member of the Incident Response Team Collaborate with other teams inside of NS1/IBM to deploy new security-related tools and processes across the organization.


Required Technical and Professional Expertise
  • 1-2 years of experience in infrastructure or security architecture/engineering/operations or related technical fields.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms specifically Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Familiarity with tools such as Tenable.io, Crowdstrike, & Prisma Cloud.
  • Recognized security certifications are highly desirable (CISSP, CISA, GIAC, CEH and others)
  • Effective analytical skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Good communication, technical documentation, and report writing skills.
  • Proven ability to work in team environment.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable executing in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Demonstration of continuing ability to self-teach.


Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering/Computer Science or related Cyber-Security certifications and/or equivalent work experience.
