Social Media Marketing Strategy Associate

As a Social Media Marketing Strategy Associate, you will be responsible for supporting the CPGP Marketing team in building and engaging audiences through compelling social media programs across a variety of franchises such as Disney, Pixar, and Star Wars. You will work with internal Cast Members, external licensees and agencies across marketing strategy, creative advertising, PR and communications, customer engagement and franchise/commercial teams. As a social-first storyteller, you will help shape and implement plans that connect with consumers in inspiring ways, across multiple social platforms. You will manage the creation of content for CPGP social handles with internal and external teams, partner with paid influencers for product amplification opportunities, and ideate new ways to achieve CPGP social media marketing goals.

YouTube Emphasis

Collaborate on building an engaged kids and parents YouTube community and executing marketing strategies for CPGP’s YouTube channels. This role is much more than project management and leans into content creation. The role requires someone with a passion for creating kids’ content and expertise in YouTube. The candidate should have a proven track record of helping to shape and execute an editorial and engagement strategy for YouTube platforms.

TikTok/Meta Emphasis

Collaborate on building an engaged Gen Z and Millennial audience and executing marketing strategies for CPGP’s handles across Meta and TikTok. The role requires someone who can take the ideas seen on social and turn them into business-driving strategies for CPGP. This role is much more than project management and leans into content creation. The role requires someone with a passion for social first content, and expertise on Meta and TikTok platforms. The candidate should have a proven track record of helping to shape and execute an editorial and engagement strategy for Meta and TikTok platforms.

Handles include: Disney Style (TikTok, Instagram, Facebook), Disney Baby (Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube) Star Wars Life (Instagram), Disney Princess (YouTube) and Pixar Cars (YouTube).

The Social Media Marketing Strategy Associate will report to the Manager, Social Media Marketing Strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Ideate and execute social media marketing strategies, including editorial content approaches that will make CPGP social channels a top destination for target audiences.
  • Support the day-to-day management of CPGP social handles to align with key strategies and business objectives.
  • Work with leader and internal partners to execute strategies and campaigns using social media as the tactical pull-down to deliver on business goals.
  • Collaborate with Marketing Strategy, Brand Commercialization, Franchise, Licensing, Customer Engagement, Public Relations, and other partners across The Walt Disney Company to optimize social media programs.
  • Help to manage external agencies who support CPGP social media accounts, including formulating contractual obligations, ensuring fulfillment of work against defined campaign plans, monitoring for quality control, and providing creative feedback.
  • Curate social analytics and performance information, to inform social content strategy in real time, and share key data with stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of relevant professional experience in social media or digital marketing
  • Experience in executing social media strategies and producing compelling social media content.
  • Demonstrated understanding of social platform tools and best practices on current and emerging platforms
  • Passion for social media and deep knowledge of how to leverage it to drive business goals.
  • Excellent editorial judgment, a passion for community engagement, and enthusiasm for the social ecosystem
  • A creative eye, with a knack for capturing social content, whether still photos or videos
  • Strong written and verbal skills, excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work well within highly collaborative, multidisciplinary teams across various departments.
  • A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous work experience in Social Media Marketing in the Entertainment, Media Network, or Consumer Products industry
  • Experience in managing external agencies/partners/talent.
    • Knowledge of product development and new product launches
    • Proficiency in Keynote

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or equivalent

The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $84,500 - $113,300 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
