As a Salesforce Developer with Octo, you will join an Agile program responsible for the development, maintenance, security, and operational support of new and existing applications using the Salesforce platform. You are a cross-functional Salesforce Developer skilled in developing and Administering Salesforce Applications and providing operational support. You have a passion for high-quality, reliable, and maintainable code. You are agile and retrospective, and not afraid to identify what we are doing wrong so we can fix it, and what we are doing right so we can improve on it.

Program Mission…

This program will support the agency’s execution of Information Sharing and Services mission through collaboration with various programs within the agency.

Years of Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience or a combination of relevant experience and education. 5+ years of Salesforce application development.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience (preferred)

Location: DC Metro Area (preferred)

Clearance: U.S. Citizenship is required | Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust is required | Active TSA clearance strongly preferred



Required Technical and Professional Expertise
  • Design, develop, implement, and support custom solutions using the Salesforce platform
  • Perform data migration and integration activities
  • Design, develop, implement, and support API development
  • Use development best practices to ensure high code quality standards are met
  • Follow the team’s established Agile processes, which include both short- and long-term planning, cross functional support, and demonstrating working software.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Salesforce platform and data structure, and how to leverage the tool to meet customer needs
  • Salesforce Certified App Builder, Platform Developer I, Platform Developer II
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce Lightning
  • Working knowledge of agile lifecycle tools such as JIRA and Confluence
  • Experience with SFDC APIs, REST based web services, XML, and JavaScript
  • Experience designing and implementing automated build and deployment pipelines and supporting platform
  • Working knowledge of cloud services
  • Working knowledge of web service environments, languages, and formats such as RESTful APIs, SOAP, FTP/SFTP, HTML, JavaScript, XML, and JSON
  • Ability to connect technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Able to clearly communicate and provide positive recommendation of improvements to existing software applications
  • Understanding of the importance of clean code and integrated testing while following design best practices (data structure and design patterns)
  • Must be able to comply with Executive Order No 13991


Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
  • Experience supporting government agencies.
  • Working experience with CI/CD pipelines; including technologies such as Jenkins and Github
  • Salesforce Certified Platform Developer II
  • Experience working in an Agile environment and knowledge of Agile philosophies
  • Experience supporting Salesforce Digital Experience Cloud
  • Experience supporting Salesforce Service Cloud
