Job Description

Amazon Logistics is seeking a Principal Product Manager to cross-functionally develop and implement strategies to balance network capacity within the mid-range capacity planning horizon. The North America Delivery Service Partner (NA DSP) business is responsible for managing and growing the network of professional contract organizations that power Amazon's in-house last mile delivery service. The DSP Capacity Planning team is central to achieving the program objectives of DSP Last Mile Delivery by designing structure to optimally allocate routes to our DSPs across the delivery network.

The Principal Product Manager will be responsible for inventing and operationalizing strategies to support capacity needs throughout the network while growing high-performing, existing DSPs. The Principal Product Manager will work across planning, tech, product, operations and business teams. This is a highly visible role with senior leaders and decisions makers across Amazon operations. Capacity planning is also a highly complex space, which requires the Principal Product Manager to use a quantitative and analytical approach balanced by business judgment to determine optimal strategies.

Key job responsibilities
• Defining and building new capabilities to best match DSP supplied capacity with volume demand
• Partnering with and influencing cross-functional teams to address system, tool, and process gaps required to effectively support multi-station operations
• Improving performance of the network across key performance metrics
• Communicating strategy, status, and results to senior leadership


A day in the life
This role will be partnering across teams in multiple planning horizons ranging from far upstream volume planning to near-term planning to working directly with delivery partners. The role also partners with various tech teams to ensure data is presented in a way that makes sense to internal and DSP partner teams.

Basic Qualifications:

- 10+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience
- 10+ years of blending product and program management skills to execute strategic initiatives about process creation, standardization, and improvement experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience with end to end product delivery
- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
- Experience as a product manager or owner

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience owning technology products

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $240,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
