Job Description

The Builder Tools organization within Amazon Web Services (AWS) at Amazon is looking for talented engineers to join the Apollo Cloudscape team.
Our team owns the software and systems that help Amazon’s massive developer community build the cutting edge services and technology that Amazon is known for. Our systems deliver the technology that powers fully-automated deployments and dynamic fleet scaling for some of the world’s largest services. Through a fully-automated continuous deployment workflow, Amazon engineers can bring code changes and new features to the customer, or dynamically shape the size of their fleet, all because of the magic we provide. Cloudscape make it possible for every developer at Amazon to rapidly change their running applications without ever having to take an outage. Ever wondered how the Amazon web site, Alexa, Prime Video, and hundreds of other services are available 24 hours a day, across the world, yet are continually evolving? Apollo is the answer. Cloudscape is at the core how engineers work at Amazon. Every engineer uses it every day. In Cloudscape, everything we do goes into production and is instantly used by tens of thousands of other engineers.

What we do makes a difference, and we're not done yet! We are looking for developers who are passionate about making managing applications in the cloud work for everyone. We have so much more we want to do.

If you have what we’re looking for, come join a strong team in a highly-visible organization. You will have a significant impact on Amazon's massively distributed software development environment and help us to build the best continuous deployment and fleet management system in the world.

Help us to write the next generation of systems that controls the software on millions of servers, for tens of thousands of applications, while delivering on the promise of elastic capacity. We want to make it as easy as possible for application owners to create rapid change, and we need developers who are excited to make managing applications in the cloud work for everyone.

AWS has the most services and more features within those services, than any other cloud provider–from infrastructure technologies like compute, storage, and databases–to emerging technologies, such as machine learning and artificial intelligence, data lakes and analytics, and Internet of Things. AWS Platform is the glue that holds the AWS ecosystem together. Whether its Identity features such as access management and sign on, cryptography, console, builder & developer tools, and even projects like automating all of our contractual billing systems, AWS Platform is always innovating with the customer in mind. The AWS Platform team sustains over 750 million transactions per second.

Our team is dedicated to supporting new members. We have a broad mix of experience levels and tenures, and we’re building an environment that celebrates knowledge sharing and mentorship. Our senior members enjoy one-on-one mentoring and thorough, but kind, code reviews. We care about your career growth and strive to assign projects based on what will help each team member develop into a better-rounded engineer and enable them to take on more complex tasks in the future.

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
