Sr. Analyst, Rights and Commercial Affairs

Disney Platform Distribution is a business unit within Disney Entertainment Studios that manages all third-party media sales efforts for distribution, affiliate marketing and affiliate-related business operations for all the Company's direct-to-consumer services and linear media networks, content sales agreements for General Entertainment, Studios and Sports.

The Senior Analyst, Rights & Commercial Affairs will collaborate with Operational and Technical partners to conceptualize, project manage, and execute systems and process improvements for Content Distribution Strategy.  They will collaborate with a suite of systems and teams that work together to provide accurate rights, licensing data, product configuration and metadata that Distribution Planning & Analysis (DP&A) need to correctly distribute content. 

Responsibilities:

• Conduct and project manage User acceptance testing

• Project management of process and systems initiatives

• Analysis and reporting

• Documenting processes, decisions, and workflows

Improvement Project Management

• Keep track of incoming improvement requests for DP&A and Commercial Affairs, working with the Senior Manager to prioritize and manage expectations with the business

• Work with requesting teams to flesh out use cases for improvement and write User Stories

• When applicable, create visual diagrams to illustrate workflows and processes

• Manage deadlines and interdependencies from multiple stakeholders to ensure projects will be completed when expected.

• Create and manage instances of enterprise tools when appropriate

User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

• Serve as the project owner for all UAT for DP&A

• Work with PDO and Technology to make sure that test scripts arrive in time and clear and relevant to business user use-cases.

• Serve as a resource for Business Users to unblock issues during testing

• Design and execute more comprehensive tests as needed

• Keep track of user issues and resolution

• Advise leadership of any issues that would prevent production release

Data Analysis and Reporting

• Perform detailed analysis of large datasets in excel.  Be able to identify patterns, inconsistencies, or errors—sometimes across different source systems

• Serve as a reporting expert for rights management systems (i.e. Rightsline) and other tools as needed

• Scrub and manipulate large data sets for upload

• Create and present presentations that can articulate findings to stakeholders, including executives, when needed.

Documentation

• Draft User training documents of new features or processes

• Carefully document decisions, definitions, and policies

Required experience:

• 3+ years of relevant experience

• Familiarity with Technology improvement process concepts such as requirements gathering, user stories and acceptance criteria

• Deep experience with data analysis, advanced Excel skills and comfort with analyzing large amounts of data

• Familiarity with collaboration tools such as Airtable, Lucid Suite and Smartsheet

• Basic familiarity with the concepts of rights and deal management

• Strong facility with PowerPoint and presenting to stakeholders

• Clear communications skills both verbally and in writing, some experience with technical writing

• Proven track record in effectively managing and building strong relationships with a broad array of stakeholders

#DISNEYPLATFORMDISTRIBUTION

The hiring range for this position in Los Angeles, CA is $92,700 - $113,300 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
