It was founded in 1902 when the Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines offered ten Filipino Augustinian nuns a house near the Basilica of San Sebastián. The College is located beside the College of the Holy Spirit and across Centro Escolar University in the city’s San Miguel district, containing Malacañang Palace. La Consolación College is along Mendiola Street and occupies a trapezoidal, 2.8-hectare lot enclosed by Arlegui, San Rafael, C.A. Aguila, and Mendiola streets. It is part of the University Belt, an unofficial subdistrict of Manila that includes other educational institutions along Claro M.
