The Hospitality Management Department pursues its students' holistic development towards global competitiveness in the hospitality and tourism industry. The program will equip students with competencies related to the primary and core requirements and those associated with major and minor areas of concentration and elective courses. After completing the program, the graduates can pursue a career in the tourism industry and or hospitality sectors.
The philosophy of the Radiologic Technology Department founded on the principles of holistic, ethical, dynamic, and competency-based education for the individual to attain his full potential as a human being and as a professional. It is expressed in the careful and confident teaching and application of acknowledging skills and the right attitudes to deliver state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic imaging. The Department adheres to the proper implementation of the policies and standards for Radiologic Technology Education prescribed by the Commission on Higher Education. As forerunners of the program, the Faculty commit themselves to the highest standards for ethical practice in the full implementation of the program. The Faculty believes that all individuals deserve to be treated fairly, with dignity and respect, and nourished in an environment that promotes personal and professional growth. The Department believes that the essence of being a Radiologic Technologist lies in his/her capacity and willingness to be of service to others as an integral and valued part of the health care team. The Department further believes that the development of human potential must be guided by the Almighty One's hand for it to have meaning and purpose.
Occupational Therapists (OTs) help clients live independent, productive, and satisfying lives. The Occupational therapy practice appeals to creative thinkers and can flexibly solve problems with a diverse group of individuals in activities of daily living. There are several reasons for the tremendous demand for Occupational Therapists. There is an increase in the number of individuals with disabilities or limited function who require therapy services. Medical advances result in a longer life span allowing the growth of a population 75 years and older, an age group with a high incidence of disabling conditions. The advancements in science and technology allow more patients with critical problems to survive.
The Psychology Program is dedicated to providing a collaborative environment for the learning of innovative and scientific contributions to psychology and be the professionals serving the local, national, and global communities.
Biology encompasses all aspects of microbial, plant, and animal life. It includes the biochemistry, genetics, development, physiology, evolution, and ecology of all living things. Every educated person must have sound knowledge of the fundamental principles and facts of the biological sciences to understand himself or herself and the world in which she or he lives. Through their research, biologists contribute to the development of theories and methods required for the solution of humanity's problems in the fields of health, agriculture, industry, and the preservation of the environment.
Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship is a four-year course aimed to produce graduates with an attitude, mindset, and personal competencies expected from an entrepreneur as an innovator and business owner. The program's main overreaching goals are to a) foster entrepreneurial behaviors, skills, and mindsets b) increase the number of start-ups c) seek opportunities for the commercial application of creation, innovation, and research, and d) inspire others towards entrepreneurship. This program is founded on partnerships and collaborations using the project and team-focused pedagogies focused on relevant and real-world learning.
Medical Laboratory Science (Medical Technology) is the branch of medicine concerned with the performance of laboratory test procedures and analysis used in the diagnosis, prognosis of the disease, treatment, and health maintenance. Bachelor in Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) is a four-year program consisting of general education and professional courses. The fourth-year level is the internship program of one (year) in a CHED-accredited training laboratory with rotational duties in different sections such as Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Immunohematology (Blood Banking), Immunology and Serology, Urinalysis and Body Fluids (Clinical Microscopy), Parasitology, Histopathologic/ Cytologic Techniques, and other emergent technologies.
Nursing is a science and art aimed to place a person in the best condition for nature to restore or preserve health. It has knowledge, skills, and attitudes capable of fulfilling the fundamental health rights and improving quality of life. It is accomplished through human-to-human relationships, utilizing the nursing process, and critical thinking. It conducts and participates in research and utilizes research findings. Nursing education is concerned with providing the student's situations and opportunities to develop physically, mentally, socially, spiritually, professionally, equipping them with knowledge, skills, and positive attitudes necessary to meet their own needs and problems and their clients globally accepted competence and quality. It is achieved by utilizing related concepts, theories, and principles rather than isolated facts.
The Tourism Management Department aims to enhance students' learnings and develop their skills and confidence in dealing with guests. Part of the program was the On-the-job training held this Summer, and this was the first-ever OJT held this school year 2016-2017. However, it only operates as a new program, yet students had fun and had an opportunity to experience a real world setting of working in the Tourism Industry. Students were assigned to the Department of Tourism, Eden Nature Park, Davao Doctors Hospital, Travel Advantage in Davao City.
