At Wildwood School, we believe success in today's world is no longer defined by how many facts and figures one can hold in his or her head. Wildwood students begin to develop these skills in kindergarten and continue through 12th grade. Wildwood School's curriculum extends further than standard college-preparatory academics, compelling students to develop as practitioners—historians, writers, mathematicians, scientists, and artists—by applying their skills in meaningful ways. At Wildwood, intellectual rigor and creativity blend through interdisciplinary curricula and project-based, collaborative learning rooted in the real world. Emphasizing a project-based learning approach, students delve deeply into the course material and merge it with their interests. Through projects, students connect new knowledge with what they already know. They develop higher-order thinking skills—the ability to analyze, evaluate, and synthesize—crucial for college and life success.

Wildwood teachers and students appreciate that there are many types of literacy—informational, intellectual, emotional, social, and ethical—that make up a well-rounded student prepared with the tools to succeed in the 21st century. Students are challenged to structure their learning through the discipline of Life Skills in elementary school and the Habits of Mind and Heart rigors in the middle and upper school.

Wildwood seniors matriculate to an impressive range of colleges across the country. College counseling begins in 9th grade when counselors first work with each student and family. In 11th grade, students are advised in course choices and planning Senior Institute academic and leadership opportunities.

Wildwood offers three school-wide initiatives designed to integrate learning about science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) into every student's experience. Each complements Wildwood culture's essential elements—educating students through the lenses of Life Skills and Habits of Mind and Heart, systems thinking, and project-based learning, among others.
