Admission to Walsingham Academy is selective regarding the applicant's past academic performance, teacher recommendations, test scores, entrance exam, and personal interview. Although metrics are an essential part of the process, we seek not merely to qualify a student by a test score. Instead, we strive to get to know our applicants as individuals with unique characteristics, strengths, interests, and contributions to the community. We work to provide an individualized experience for our applicants during this process and connect them with both academics and activities throughout the school.
As a school founded by the Sisters of Mercy, Walsingham Academy incorporates the Mercy core values into the everyday academic experience of a college preparatory academy. By doing so, Walsingham prepares students to be successful in the academic world and be thoughtful and caring members of society outside of school.
Walsingham Academy is a nationally recognized Blue Ribbon School of Excellence serving grades Pre-K through 12th grade. Walsingham Academy focuses not only on academic preparation but also on educating the whole child, including varied extracurricular activities and grade-level service projects, to extend the Mercy values beyond the classroom.
Technology is a powerful and ever-evolving presence in the lives of our students. Therefore, we are committed to providing students with access to technology to further academic and professional goals. Through our 1-to-1 student-iPad classrooms for those in grades 1-8 and our Bring Your Device policy beginning in 9th grade, we utilize technology as a resource to supplement classroom activities. By exposing students to the latest technological advancements, we teach them to embrace technology as an essential tool for furthering their curiosity, learning, and understanding.
