Since 1884, The Haverford School has been dedicated to teaching boys and helping them grow in academics, the arts, athletics, and moral character. Our best-for-boys approach will help identify your son's passion - and fuel it. We recognize boys' innate competitiveness, their boundless energy, their need to learn with their hands, their sense of humor, and their sense of fairness - and we teach accordingly. Our teachers are experts in educating and mentoring boys.
Our rigorous liberal arts curriculum empowers boys to master knowledge in a variety of disciplines. Boys write for our award-winning literary journal and newspaper, excel in music and art, and compete in the oldest and most demanding secondary school sports league in the country. We develop compassion and empathy and teach that such traits are the full expression of being a man. Our Character & Citizenship program includes leadership, service learning, global studies, health and wellness, and community life - all of which are integral to a student's Haverford School experience.
Our college list is as diverse as our students and highlights the personalized approach of our three full-time college counselors who work with students beginning in their freshman year. More than 90% of graduates attend one of their top 3 college choices, and the National Merit Scholarship Program recognized 15% of the Class of 2017. Graduates impact government, finance, technology, education, the arts, agriculture, and more. Under the mentorship of our extraordinary educators, boys grow intellectually, morally, and physically on the road to becoming exceptional men.

The Haverford School, a nonsectarian college preparatory day school for pre-kindergarten through grade 12, provides a superior liberal arts education for qualified boys of differing backgrounds.
