Sunderland College is a world-class provider of education, with four campuses located across the city. We offer one of the region’s most extensive range of school leaver, adult, and higher education courses as well as courses for international students. The quality of our education and the support we provide to our students is paramount to us. We pride ourselves on this, and our success speaks for itself: We have officially been recognized as useful in our Ofsted inspection. We have held a 99% pass rate for the past seven years and have an impressive number of students

  • Securing places at top universities including Oxford, Cambridge and Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts and Laine Theatre Arts
  • Many of our vocational programs have a 100% pass rate
  • We are one of the most extensive trainers and suppliers of apprentices in the region
  • We have been awarded the Matrix, National Quality Mark for Advice and Guidance four times in a row

For some, vision is simply the ability to see – to see what is already there. For Governors and the senior management team at Sunderland College, vision is seeing what is not there, and picturing what can be imagining the future and knowing what we are capable of becoming. The 2014 -17 Strategic Plan summarises our vision for a dynamic and high performing college and sets out the strategic ambitions for Sunderland College for the next three years. It captures how we will continue to improve the experiences we provide for our stakeholders and partners, how we plan to be more responsive, and engage more effectively with our target audiences. We aspire to be an outstanding and first choice provider with learners and employers, for all aspects of education and training within Sunderland, the North East, and beyond.

Sunderland College’s commitment to Equality and Diversity is reflected in our core values and strategic ambitions. We make sure that everything we do helps:

  • Eliminate unlawful discrimination, harassment, victimization, and other conduct prohibited by the Equality Act 2010.
  • Advance the equality of opportunity between people who share a protected characteristic and those who do not.
  • Foster good relations between people who share a protected characteristic and those who do not.
