SCU is an exciting place to be. Since its founding in 1946, the University continues to foster a spiritually vibrant, academically rigorous, and mission-fervent community of visionaries seeking to make a difference in this world.
Our vision for a Christian liberal arts education pursued from the Biblical Christian worldview is expressed in more than 30 undergraduate degree programs. It attracts students from more than 20 different nations. Our Pentecostal blueprint for Christian living, undergirded by our core values of Scholarship, Spirit, and Service, make SCU a perfect place for preparing the total person to succeed and excel in careers, callings, and in life.
Our location in the City of Bethany, which is in the Metropolitan area of Oklahoma City, and our proximity to Will Rogers World Airport (OKC) and state and interstate highways, makes the SCU campus easily accessible. Additionally, being located on the historic Route 66 is a reminder of the endless possibilities awaiting those who embrace and desire to participate in the American dream.
Our continuous campus improvements and the restructuring of faculty and staff have added to the excitement of student life at SCU. Our athletic teams also compete in the prestigious Sooner Athletic Conference in the NAIA and allow for involvement in mission trips both locally, regionally, and around the world.
The Office of Academic Affairs serves the campus by guiding curriculum and activities toward uniting students’ vocational interests with their passion for pursuing God’s truth and positively impacting their world for Jesus Christ. We are committed to leading the University in its core areas of focus: scholarship, spirit, and service.
Southwestern Christian University is small by design to ensure we remain nimble and respond to the changing needs of students and job market demands quickly. Our average class size is only 12, g giving students more personal interaction with their faculty. With approximately 50 programs of study, our faculty strive to serve our students and prepare them for life-long learning. We are committed to infusing our Pentecostal heritage and relentless passion for pursuing Christ with both our curricular and co-curricular programs to help students mature in their faith.
Our main campus is beautifully wooded and only minutes from downtown Oklahoma City, giving students access to vast activities yet maintaining a small-town feel in the local Bethany area. Likewise, our Tulsa Metro campus offers a retreat-like atmosphere while keeping students near a nucleus of activity.
