Located on a picturesque campus in the historic city of Newport, R.I., Salve Regina University is a Catholic, coeducational university founded by the Sisters of Mercy. The University offers a comprehensive education with a liberal arts foundation that fosters each student's talents.

Salve Regina's 80-acre campus is set on seven contiguous Gilded Age estates. It features 21 historic significance structures that have been sensitively adapted to meet University needs while also preserving their status as treasures of the 19th and early 20th centuries.
Our comprehensive liberal arts education features a wide range of academic disciplines and ensures that graduates are well prepared to enter their chosen field of industry. While admission is competitive, students are selected without regard to age, race, gender, creed, national or ethnic origin, or disability.
We offer 13 master's degree programs with options for concentrations, a doctoral program in humanities, and the Doctor of Nursing Practice, along with a bachelor's degree in nursing for licensed registered nurses. Our programs feature small classes led by faculty with real-world experience and the opportunity to take courses on campus in Newport, at our Center for Adult Education in Warwick, or online.

We classify an international student as a student who does not hold a U.S. citizenship or passport or U.S. permanent residency (U.S. resident alien) and needs an F-1 student visa.

The Office of Student Activities offers a variety of involvement opportunities for students. Our programs and initiatives teach students to become stronger leaders, develop positive relationships, respect their peers and community and immerse themselves in their interests.
Our goal is to enhance the educational experience by offering activities that challenge, enlighten, and entertain. The office plans a wide range of programs and special events, provides support for recognized student organizations, promotes student involvement in co-curricular activities, and seeks opportunities to collaborate with other offices and departments across campus.
