There are only two public institutes in the Czech Republic, where the programs focus on the applicability of knowledge rather than just theory. VŠTE is one of them. The latest example of this is a shared workplace between the Institute and the company JIKORD.
The primary focus of VŠTE activities is the implementation of full-time and part-time studies for professional bachelor's and master's degree programs. The professional study programs are supported by cooperation with regional entrepreneurs. VŠTE's other priorities include applied research, the implementation of innovative technologies and knowledge transfer into current and crucial areas with regards to the needs of the region

The bachelor's degree programs are focused on the implementation of full-time and part-time professional study programs over 3 or 4 years. The professional bachelor's degree programs are supported by cooperation with regional entrepreneurs. Study Programmes are taught in English.
VŠTE uses a comprehensive information system that allows students to create their learning plans and manage their study credits. The rules that must be observed during a student's studies are put into the system as algorithms, which then help them to prepare their learning plans. This and other services provided through the IS MU means that, among other things, queues have disappeared (e.g., registrations for subsequent semesters are now carried out automatically by the system, etc.), as have paper registers (even student's record books have become redundant), and many activities related to learning and teaching have been simplified.
VŠTE annually instigates many international students and employee mobility programs. This section provides all the information you require on the Institute's foreign relations, including language principles, the preconditions for admission, and the list of foreign institutes with whom we cooperate closely.
Every year many students travel abroad as part of various international mobility programs to improve their language skills and gain much experience to find fulfillment in their future professional careers. This section provides comprehensive information.
Every year VŠTE also supports international employee mobility. Employees may choose from a full offer of traineeships or other programs. Employees, therefore, have the opportunity to improve their language skills and acquire valuable practical experience.
Lifelong Learning Centre is an integral component of the Institute Technology and Business educational activities in Czech Budejovice.
The Center is situated in the ITB complex and has a high-quality technical background. The main task of the Center is the exploration of the regional education market and the subsequent creation and implementation of retraining, interest and professional courses, courses on peace and specialized lectures in the field of Building Management, Corporate Economics, Accounting, Logistics, Taxes, drawing of the construction drawings on PC, architectural drawings in CAD applications (computer programs), professional foreign language and so on. Another important task of the Center is to prepare and realize educational programs for employees and courses of selected accredited disciplines according to § 60 of Higher Education Akt for ITB students.
A first two semesters bachelor's studies in the fields of study as Corporate Economics, Building Management, and Construction of Buildings takes place at ITB in the framework of Lifelong Learning. Educational programs the Centre for lifelong learning are intended for the students and staff of VŠTE and for the general public, which wants to continue developing knowledge in their fields or acquiring new scientific knowledge. It focuses on both individuals and businesses/institutions. The Centre also puts the most significant emphasis on the wishes and requirements of candidates for further education.
The International Mobility of Researchers project aims to enhance international cooperation at the research level, where the Post-doc should bring international experience and skills associated with his previous experience abroad in the chosen field of research into the Czech research organization.
Research in the field of new materials and technologies (offered at the Faculty of Technology).Research in the field of economic problem-solution in the enterprise and applications of artificial intelligence (offered at the School of Expertness and Valuation).
For those students of VŠTE České Budějovice whose place of residence is far away, there is the university dormitory. It operates seven days a week and is located directly on the campus. The school's accommodation facilities are located on the 5th and sixth floors of pavilion D. The ground floor includes the reception, rest area, and two vending machines for hot and cold drinks and biscuits.
From the hall on each of the floors, there are entrances into anterooms which house wardrobes for the residential units. From there, there are entrances to two twin-bedded rooms and a bathroom. Every room is equipped with a desk, chairs, personal cabinets, and beds. Students may have their radios and computers with internet connection in their rooms.
In the main school building, where the dormitory is situated, there is a shared kitchen with equipment for cooking and heating meals and drinks (or for cooling): kitchen units, cooker, refrigerator, microwave oven, kettle, and dishes.
