The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Schools of Architecture, Design, and Conservation (KADK) was founded in 2011 based on a merger between the Academy's School of Architecture, the Danish Design School, and the Academy's School of Conservation.
Today KADK has approx. Two thousand students on our Bachelor, Master's, Ph.D., and continuing education programs. Take an in-depth look at KADK's vibrant context, reports, and KPIs.
The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts Schools of Architecture, Design, and Conservation is managed by a Board, which is responsible for promoting the institution's work and defending the interests of the institution as an institution for artistic education and research.
The Board is accountable to the Minister for Education for the institution's overall business and the rules laid down for the institution.
The Rector of KADK is Lene Dammand Lund, and the Vice-Rector is Svend Lawaetz.
Also, KADK's strategic management consists of a Head of Education, a Head of Research, and three academic heads from the different schools.
The Board is the top management of the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts Schools of Architecture, Design, and Conservation. It is responsible for promoting the institution's work and defending the institution's interests as an institution for artistic education and research.
The Board is accountable to the Minister for Education for the institution's overall business and the rules laid down for the institution. Based on the Rector recommendations, the Board determines guidelines for the institution's organization, long-term business, and development. The Board appoints and dismisses the Rector.
The composition of the Board should reflect the institution's overall tasks. Therefore, the whole Board must have access to education, research, artistic research practice, dissemination of knowledge, management, organization, finances, and the areas of employment and business, for which the institution educates its students.
We will strengthen our graduates' international and professional profiles with an approach based on research, art, and practice. We will develop a context, which promotes a link between the three domains of knowledge. We present the Strategy in 11 strategy packages, which, between 2013 and 2015, will strengthen our DNA - research, art, and practice - and create the very best environment for the processes, which will ensure that we continue to produce graduates and generate word-class knowledge.
KADK is subject to several laws, contracts, and political agreements. All this material is only available in Danish. You are welcome to contact us if you have questions about Laws and Conditions.
Multi-year agreements are political agreements that establish directions and priorities for the work of institutions providing arts education. Agreements are made for four years.
The development contract is an agreement between KADK and The Ministry of Higher Education and Science, setting the framework and developmental goals for the schools' work.
The artistic, educational programs, and institutions, of which KADK are a part, are subject to some laws and executive orders.
