Atkinson founded the School as the Nevada Business Institute. The original campus was located at the southwest corner of Sierra and Walnut (6th) Streets. Heald’s Business College of California purchased the Nevada Business Institute in August of 1907 and began offering classes that fall. The College emphasized individual instruction, and students could take classes in different fields. Morrison University has stuck to its business roots and today offers degrees in business-related fields, such as Accounting, Computer Science, Management, and a competitive MBA program.
