Wood End Park is rapidly improving with pupils making impressive progress in their learning. We offer a wide range of after-school clubs to further extend the skills of our pupils. Saturday classes are popular, with many Year Six children attending booster lessons and an extra sports session each week.
We are proud of our partnership working with parents and carers. We offer a wide range of opportunities so that families can come into the academy to see our work. These community events include festival assemblies, curriculum-linked workshops, and special-themed exhibitions.
As an academy in The Park Federation Academy Trust, we benefit from the capacity and resources of the Trust, particularly our partnership working with Cranford Park, James Elliman, Lake Farm Academy, Montem Academy, The Godolphin Junior Academy, and Western House Academy.
We are five forms of entry in our year groups so that more local children can benefit from the effective education and care we offer. In addition, we hope to open our very own nursery in the next two years. So Wood End Park Academy is a vibrant, welcoming, and inclusive place with plenty of ambition and many exciting plans for the future.
Within school, children are actively encouraged to make decisions and choices, knowing that they are in a safe and supportive environment. As a school, we educate and provide boundaries for young children to take risks and make choices safely. Children are encouraged to know, understand and exercise their rights and personal freedoms and advised how to exercise these safely, for example through our Behaviour Policy, E-Safety, and PSHE lessons. Whether it be through choice of learning challenge, how they record their learning, participation in one of our extra-curricular clubs, and opportunities, children are given the freedom to make choices and make decisions.
At Wood End Park Academy (WEPA), we aim to translate the vision of The Park Federation Trust so it is a reality for our families. We firmly believe that we are here to serve our community and try hard to offer the very best that we can. We believe in Lifelong Learning. We wish for our pupils to attend our Academy every single day (or as much as possible) to access a high-quality curriculum.
We offer a curriculum that is broad and balanced so pupils of differing talents have a chance to exceed in their area. We note pupils with talents in specific areas to ensure they are accessing higher levels of skill and opportunities e.g. Computing Enrichment Classes. We use specialist Teachers as much as we can to support the quality of teaching across the curriculum and currently have Music, Computing, and PE (Physical Education) specialists in the Academy.
At Wood End Park Academy, we firmly believe that each child needs to decide on their choices for behavior and this includes the words they choose to use to resolve conflict or disagreements they may face. We are clear that we do not tolerate any rudeness or intolerance. These are not ways we resolve differences at Wood End Park Academy. Pupils know that we are in a multi-cultural community and differences are to be celebrated. Any remarks related to a child’s race, color or faith are promptly and firmly dealt with. Parents are told of any incidents that involve their children.
