As a caring school with traditional values, The Shrubbery School provides positive learning experiences which will help your child develop a capacity for learning and aid their personal growth. We aim to instill confidence and a sense of achievement and worth in each of our pupils. At the same time, we work for a community atmosphere of mutual respect and concern for others. We hold a set of values, each beginning with the letter ‘R’ known as the ‘Six Rs’ which promote both social and learning behaviors. We also respect the United Nations Rights of the Child and learn about the world far beyond the classroom.

Literacy and Numeracy are seen as the vital building blocks for the rest of our school curriculum and there is always something interesting and exciting going on in school, within our creative curriculum, and in sporting and extra-curricular subjects. We want to inspire our children with a love of life and learning allowing them to explore, discover and have fun! We encourage leadership and working together in our school in a range of areas both in and out of the classroom.

At The Shrubbery School, we offer a wide range of organized extra-curricular activities, clubs, and lessons to help our pupils from age 3-11 develop as individuals. We encourage every pupil to try and a range of these, which can lead to life-long hobbies and passions.

The extra-curricular activities program aims to extend and enrich the work being done during curriculum PE and to provide some pupils with opportunities to enable them to develop the skills they need to access curriculum PE. The program should also inform any assessment of pupils. The program will reinforce the importance of keeping physically active to lead a healthy lifestyle. An extra-curricular activities program is provided both before and after school, and at lunchtime allowing all children to access the programs on offer.
