Welcome to our school. St John Vianney is a single-form entry Catholic primary school, situated in Tottenham, in the North London Borough of Haringey. Our school is a bustling and vibrant environment for our children and we are always working to strengthen our partnership and unity. Our sense of community is incredibly strong, and that is both a blessing and a sturdy foundation for our endeavors.
We are a forward-thinking, innovative school, and are actively seeking out the best educational experiences for our children. This year have seen two major initiatives at the heart of our provision: “Cornerstones Topic Curriculum” provides the children with exciting, project-based, cross-curricular learning, while “Maths No Problem” is giving our children the opportunity to secure maths concepts in a hands-on, visual environment, all based on the research-led principles of Singapore maths teaching.
Our mission encapsulates all that we wish for our children: “In our school children, will work together to create a caring, learning environment with Our Lord as the focal point in which each child is valued as an individual, nurtured and encouraged to fulfill his/her potential.”
We have high expectations for all the children that pass through our care and that extends to, indeed centers on, the expectation we have of them as people – “Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all”.
The strongest element of our school, and from which all other strengths are developed, is our shared faith and purpose. It is not something we merely learn about it is a pervasive and natural ethos that structures our days and supports our efforts to be, as our motto has it, 'Everything we can be, with Christ in our hearts.'
Faith and worship are central to St John Vianney – we are an important part of the Church’s mission and we strive to ensure that our pupils and families can enjoy school life within the values exemplified by the Gospels. Pupils are encouraged to take pride in their school and to participate in its day-to-day running and decisions around its future direction.
At St John Vianney, we strive to make our curriculum an exciting, engaging, and enriching place for our children and pride ourselves on providing a broad, innovative and balanced approach to learning. The curriculum is designed around the statutory National Curriculum 2014.

At St. John Vianney, we ensure that our pupils are exposed to the vast array of Social, Moral, Spiritual, and Cultural experiences and influences that shape our daily lives in modern Britain.
To be successful and tolerant members of our societies, in all their guises, we need to constantly explore our opinions and reactions to the world around us.
To maximize motivation, excitement, and learning, we have adopted the Cornerstones Creative Curriculum. Cornerstones is a holistic approach to learning. It ensures that children learn creatively and become immersed in their academic development. This thematic approach is based on the four "Cornerstones" of learning: Engage, Develop, Innovate, and Express.
Cornerstones is delivered through a range of inspirational yet rigorous Interactive Learning Projects (ILPs). These are based on themes and content from the National Curriculum but bring learning together in new and exciting ways. Each project combines different strands of learning so that children engage more holistically and start to challenge themselves through problem solving and first-hand experience.
