YHC is a private, liberal arts institution in the beautiful mountains of Northeast Georgia. Our campus—located just two hours from Atlanta, Asheville, Chattanooga, and Greenville—allows students to embark on undiscovered paths. Young Harris College is a private, residential, liberal arts institution located in the southern Appalachian region. The College is affiliated with the United Methodist Church and students from all backgrounds are welcome.

In a world of continual change, Young Harris College educates students in the liberal arts and professional programs, serves both the region and the world, and empowers its graduates to create and define service, successes, and meaning throughout their lives.

• Offering liberal arts and professional programs using a variety of learning platforms, as well as student-life experiences, empowers students to enter life after their college experience and are educated and prepared to succeed.
• Developing and offering programs that will assist the region's region's civic, business, and educational leaders in accomplishing their economic and societal goals.

Young Harris College seeks to be recognized in the Southeast as an institution that, through its liberal arts education, encourages students to be intellectually curious. The College will educate the whole person through a comprehensive program of classroom, residential and extra-curricular experiences. Faculty and staff will be active lifelong learners, and the College will support their intellectual and professional development. The College will examine its processes and learn not only from itself but also with the academy at large. The College will embrace emerging technology and pedagogical innovations.

Young Harris College will be inclusive in character, providing opportunities for the development of faith through study, worship, and service. The College will take advantage of its mountain setting, incorporating the heritage and natural environment in both academics and student programming. The College will provide diverse educational, recreational, social, and cultural experiences for its students and the surrounding community.

Young Harris College will prepare its students to exercise mature and independent moral judgment in an ever-changing and diverse world. The College will challenge students to find and develop their particular talents, skills, and abilities. The College will allow students to interact with others from diverse backgrounds, thus preparing them for responsible citizenship. The Young Harris College experience will exemplify environmental awareness, stewardship, and service to the community.

The Honors Program provides members with distinctive learning experiences, opportunities for innovation and dissemination, and intellectual rigor. The Scholars Consortium & Academic Fellowships is an extension of that, designed to support students in advanced pursuits beyond undergraduate studies.

Young Harris College is committed to using technology to increase student success so that students begin to be collaborators in their education and future. We realize that some students have responsibilities and involvements that make a flexible course format more ideal to continue their education.

Young Harris College educates, inspires, and empowers students through a comprehensive liberal arts experience that integrates mind, body, and spirit. In today's global community, a liberal arts education cannot be comprehensive or complete without a strong international component. The mission of the YHC study abroad and international programs, therefore, is to engage the College community in meaningful international experiences that foster an appreciation of diverse cultures and provide its members with a wide range of exciting opportunities for personal and communal growth.

Living and studying abroad deepens students' understanding of other languages, peoples, and cultures and thus contributes to a better understanding of our ways of seeing the world.

The international programs of Young Harris College are committed to providing students, faculty, and staff with opportunities that enhance awareness and understanding of international and intercultural issues. By offering a welcoming campus environment to international students and faculty and by developing diverse and substantive international programs, we seek to build collaborative relationships across various academic disciplines and cultures and thereby quicken our imaginations, intellects, and shared spiritual and social values.

Young Harris College recognizes a student with a disability as anyone who has submitted appropriate documentation of a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities. Accommodations are made on a case by case basis, determined by the nature of the documented disability and the specific College program and facilities involved.

A reasonable accommodation is a modification or adjustment to a course, program, service, activity, or facility. It is designed to offer a qualified student with a disability reasonable access to the same opportunities, benefits, and privileges available to a similarly situated student without a disability. The accommodation is not required if it would fundamentally alter the nature of the course, program, service, or facility, or if it would be an undue burden for the institution. The College will seek information from appropriate personnel regarding essential standards for courses, programs, services, activities, and facilities to determine reasonable accommodations.

The Office of Student Disability Services coordinates the provision of reasonable accommodations in the academic program for students with documented disabilities. Student Disability Services staff will work with each qualified student to design an individualized and confidential Student Support Plan and to coordinate accommodations throughout the academic term.
