At Springwood Heath Primary School we believe in giving every child opportunities to reach the highest possible standards and develop the self-confidence and independence that will help them become a responsible, thoughtful and caring member of the community. We hope that our children will develop attitudes to learning that will last them the whole of their lives.
At Springwood Heath Primary School we aim to: Provide a happy, caring, safe, secure, and stimulating environment that promotes self-esteem, mutual trust, independence, respect, and positive relationships where everyone is valued.
Develop in our school respect for each other and ourselves, for family and the community and environment, and to give parents the confidence to play a full part in their child’s learning.
Provide opportunities and have expectations for all children to achieve their highest potential, irrespective of race, gender, creed, or disability. Make the best use of all resources available to the school, including developing links with the wider community, business, and industry.
Provide for all children a broad, balanced and inclusive curriculum that takes into account their diverse needs, and is enhanced by the interests and enthusiasms of the school community.
At Springwood Heath Primary School we take very seriously our responsibility to prepare children for life in modern Britain. We ensure that the fundamental Shared Values are introduced, discussed, and lived out through the ethos and work of the school.
All curriculum areas provide a vehicle for furthering understanding of these concepts and, in particular, our RE, SMSC, PSHE, and Citizenship lessons provide excellent opportunities to deepen and develop understanding. Children embrace these concepts with enthusiasm and demonstrate a good understanding of their application to their own lives. The school makes considerable efforts to ensure children have exposure to a wide experience beyond their local community during which these concepts are shown, through, for example, sporting events, a range of visits and visitors, use of outdoor education centers, and involvement with community partnerships.
Their strong rooted values-based understanding gives them an excellent platform for embracing difference, diversity and enables each child within our unique school to take their place in a Global Society.
Our successes have been recognized by awards for Innovation and Best Practice, Reading Quality Mark Gold Standard, Dyslexia Friendly Advanced Status, the Inclusion Charter Mark, Quality in Basic Skills, BECTA ICT Mark, Healthy Schools, and Investor in People. We have also recently been awarded the Gold Artsmark and International School Status.
Great News we are thrilled to announce that we are the WINNERS of the Liverpool Echo Active Community Award. We are also delighted to announce that we have won two awards at the Educate Magazine Awards Event, this is another recognition of the fantastic work the school does.
