Welcome to Rookery School where, over a long period, we have developed a very special way of looking after our children and collaborating with parents in sharing unique learning experiences. Our team is experienced and committed. We are proud of our pastoral system which ensures inclusion and participation. Governors, staff, volunteers, and parents expect that anyone who comes to Rookery will give and receive any support required, co-operate and collaborate so that children thrive.
Rookery’s curriculum is the result of fifteen years of careful planning, experimentation, and evaluation. The staff enjoys building learning experiences that involve subject specialists, residential experiences, regular and varied educational visits, citizenship, and personal development opportunities. Staff having storytelling, and mantle of the expert (learning through theatre techniques) training. The school has a long association with regional and local arts organizations. Teachers have engaged in many research projects and as a result of creativity research, we are skilled in expressing and communicating learning in one subject through another. We are working on further enhancing this approach using Science Engineering Enterprise Technology and Maths. A feature of the high standard of teaching at Rookery is the blending of challenge, support, encouragement, and feedback to ensure that all students fulfill their potential.
At Rookery we never forget that as parents desire the very best for their children.
