We are a one form entry school with 210 pupils 30 children in each class. All at Penn's are committed to meeting the needs of every child, their academic, social, and emotional development. We firmly believe the education of every child is best achieved through close partnership with parents and carers. Parents are made most welcome in school and are kept informed through a weekly newsletter, curriculum workshops, shared learning sessions, and learning reviews.

We have high expectations of our children and they reward us by giving their best. We strive to create an environment within which our children are nurtured and challenged, feel respected, and listened to so that every Penn's child develops a love of learning and wants to achieve their very best. Parents tell us they value our strong ethos of care and support for one another. Ofsted, 2012 judged our children’s behavior to be outstanding. Parent questionnaires tell us our children are happy and feel safe at school. Our children’s behavior and good manners are regularly complimented on by visitors to the school and on the many trips, they go on.

We have a highly motivated, enthusiastic team of staff who always put the children first. We have an excellent learning environment with bright, vibrant classrooms and extensive outdoor green spaces. Our ICT facilities are excellent and regularly updated in the last 12 months we have extended provision to include touch screen technology with handheld devices. Our aim is for our children to leave Penns oozing with confidence, with a lifelong love of learning and a healthy respect for themselves and others ready and prepared for their next steps in learning and life.

We at Penns Primary School aim, in partnership with parents and governors, to provide the highest standards of education for every child through:

• A secure and caring learning environment in which all children are enabled to flourish.
• An experience of school life for our children which is both stimulating and enjoyable. The curriculum at Penn's is taught in a flexible, creative manner that responds to the needs, interests, and aptitudes of the pupils, encouraging their curiosity, self-motivation, and independence.
• Ensuring all of our pupils feel challenged and successful in acquiring a set of learning and social skills, which will ultimately prepare them for the demands of a changing society.
• Fostering: a pride in personal achievement and a respect for the achievement of others.
• Ensure our pupils attain a positive set of attitudes, values, and beliefs, including respect for, and understanding of, other people's religious and moral values and cultures.

Our positive ethos is more than just a statement, it is tangible, evident in all relationships and aspects of provision. Visitors to Penns immediately recognize and comment very positively on this quality which enables our pupils, in an atmosphere of openness, justice, and honesty to grow in confidence and take their place as a useful and responsible member of society.

Our pupils have a real love of learning. They achieve high standards of attainment, progress, and outstanding personal development. Penns is a forward and outward-looking school. We have strong professional links with a range of networks and support groups. As a strategic partner, within a local Teaching School Alliance, we can offer excellent opportunities for all.

At Penns Primary School we strive to support all children to enable them to achieve to the best of their ability. To do this many steps are taken to support them through their learning journey. Quality first teaching is vital however for some children there are occasions when further positive support may be needed to help them to achieve their targets.
