Welcome to Our Lady of the Annunciation Primary and to thank you for allowing us to share our learning journey with you. We believe that in Our Lady of the Annunciation Primary we have created a caring community for our children, parents, and staff. This is a learning environment in which we have respect for each other and in which we encourage each other to be the best we can be, in all we do.

In our Lady of the Annunciation Primary, we strive to create a community of faith and learning, based on the Gospel values of love, trust, and concern for others. We aim to provide the highest quality of education for the young people in our care so that they are committed to active citizenship and encouraged to achieve their full potential.

To achieve our aims and to deliver the most effective education for our pupils, we believe that it is essential to build a strong home-school partnership where we all work together to achieve this common goal. Such a partnership is a strength of our school. There are many ways in which you can contribute to the life of the school or participate in the many activities and events which take place throughout the session.

Our vision is of a school community of faith and learning, where we strive to create a caring ethos based on the Gospel values of love, trust, and concern for others so that the young people in our care achieve their full potential.

Our Aims:

  • Through the development of the principles and practices of ACfE to provide the highest quality of teaching and learning ensuring that all pupils grow to their full potential and become motivated, creative thinking, confident, successful learners. (NP1)
  • To support and develop the skills of all staff by ensuring that their training needs are met through the process of review and development and personal development planning and by creating a culture that empowers, supports, and encourages a community of learners. (NP2)
  • To promote an ethos of respect for others where all pupils are valued and included and where there is a commitment by the whole school community to meet the social, emotional, physical, and educational needs of all individuals. (NP3)
  • To work in partnership with parents and other agencies to encourage active citizenship in our children and young people and to develop positive values towards local and global issues by nurturing the spiritual life of the school community through Faith in action. (NP4)
