At Netley, we are dedicated to giving our children the best possible start in life. As a Rights Respecting School, the UN Convention of the Rights of the Child Charter is at the heart of our school curriculum, policy and practice. We also offer the children the opportunity to act as champions of children’s rights and to develop their global citizenship.
We nurture the children’s innate curiosity and creativity as they progress through the school and we are constantly evolving our curriculum to ensure it remains relevant and engaging. Netley has many long-standing partners who support our ethos and inclusive approach the children are often allowed to work with specialists, entrepreneurs, and artists from outside the school. Partners such as The Place, The Knowledge Quarter, and Regent’s Place have all contributed significantly to developing co-designed projects.
We have outstanding practitioners including specialist leaders of education who engage in research, support, and train other teachers within Camden and beyond. Through the Executive Headship model, the school is also in a partnership with Robson House and collaborates closely with education and health professionals and the Adult Learning Centre, all of whom are located in Netley Campus.
We harness a strong belief that working closely with our parents will support the children in their learning and their well-being. By the time they leave the school, we want our children to have a strong sense of identity and to be confident and responsible citizens. By working closely with parents and providing our children with an encouraging and supportive learning environment, we believe every child can succeed.
We are proud that Netley brings children and families together from an array of different backgrounds and we believe it fosters a vibrant sense of community on campus. We encourage any prospective pupils and their parents to visit us and see first-hand what it is like to be a part of the Netley community.
Netley Primary School is an inclusive school, exuding warmth and generosity of spirit that comes from our happy children and diverse school community.
Netley Street School opened its doors to children in 1883 and all through its history the school has worked hard to improve the achievements of its pupils. In 1971 a brand new building was opened to provide early years provision. In early 2000, Camden identified a growing need to offer specialist support for children with Autism. The first purpose-built resource base for children was opened four years later.
The school is now within Netley Campus, a state-of-the-art learning environment for children and adults. We have 450 children, including Woodlands - an outstanding center for 24 children with Autism. In 2014 OFSTED judged both Netley and Woodlands as ‘Good’ in all categories. We are also excited to be enhancing our offer further, by opening a new center for two-year-olds and a Science Lab shortly.
