Over 100 years ago the school was established to help all the pupils achieve their full potential this hasn’t changed. It is a place where doing your best at all times matters in the classroom and out of the classroom. Taking pride in who you are, how you dress, your attendance and punctuality and also good manners, serving the community, consideration for others, and respect for learning are prized most highly. Boys at LNS continue to experience an education that develops all aspects of their personal and encourages them to live out their core values in their daily lives.
Our nautical ethos underpins all that we do and enables our boys to not only be successful in their studies but also provides the platform, to grow personally, develop morally and socially, enhance their sporting talents and further their artistic gifts. LNS is a thriving, vibrant, and caring learning community within which pupils are stretched intellectually and which fosters a love of learning, whilst feeling valued, happy and safe.
Expectations of all pupils are high and our school has a reputation for being a happy, friendly, stimulating and caring environment in which everyone is given the opportunity and support to complete their studies successfully and to reach their full potential. The school is recognized for the enrichment opportunities that it provides for its pupils and we expect all boys to be involved in the wider life of the school.
The dedicated staff works hard to deliver an education that develops highly qualified, confident, rounded young men, who are prepared for the opportunities and challenges that await them as they take up their place in this ever-changing world.
Our vision at London Nautical is to provide a great education. The curriculum and learning experience enables every individual to be stretched and challenged, allowing them to achieve their academic potential. It is also our aim to prepare our young people to be good citizens so that they are ready and equipped for life in our modern society.
The purpose of Learning Support in the London Nautical School is to provide an inclusive, coherent, effective, and coordinated support structure for all pupils facing barriers to learning in all Key Stages.
The Learning Support system exists to support the academic and pastoral processes of the school and not to replace them. This structure seeks to coordinate support to pupils with particular needs for example those with special educational needs (SEN), the disaffected, the gifted and talented, truants, borderline achievers, and students with English as an additional language. In this way, it aims to coordinate a range of separately funded strands of individual support and at the same time provide the discrete delivery of each in a relevant and focused manner.
Our aim to enable all pupils to have access to the curriculum and to achieve at a level commensurate with their ability.
