At Baden Powell, we strive to provide an atmosphere where all pupils and children can live and learn together. We strive to provide an environment where everyone is valued and encouraged to develop a keen sense of belonging and pride in themselves and their school. We strive to ensure every pupil truly believes that living and learning together, helps everyone achieve their full potential.
We believe that achievements are there to be celebrated idea are to be shared and politeness towards others is evident in all we do. To develop a learning community that always strives for excellence, developing lifelong learners and outstanding citizens who contribute to making our community stronger.
We at Baden Powell want everyone to experience success and to feel good about themselves as a member of both the school and the wider community. Every member of staff cares deeply for the well-being of every child and family as we know school is where a child takes their first steps to achieve their dreams and that journey should be the best it could be.
Baden Powell is a community primary school where children from 3-11 yrs receive a broad and balanced curriculum mainly in the medium of English. Welsh as a second language is taught throughout the entire school. The school provides daily acts of worship which is broadly Christian but also reflect our rich cultural diversity. This is enforced through weekly religious education sessions as required by the national curriculum. Personal and social education begins with an understanding of self, family, and relationships leading to an education session in year 6.
Throughout the school, the broad curriculum is planned a year with termly learning expectations for each subject. This is then further broken down into weekly learning expectations with specific learning opportunities planned for the abilities of every pupil. Pupil progress is monitored through a combination of daily, weekly, and termly formative and summative assessment activities.
