The University was established under Mohi-Ud-Din Islamic University Nerian Sharif Act, 1999, passed by the Legislative Assembly of Azad Jammu & Kashmir. The main objective underlying the establishment of the University is to produce graduates equipped with modern knowledge in combination with basic religious education to enable them to meet the challenges of the new millennium. The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has affirmed the equivalence of the degrees, diplomas, and certificates awarded by the University with the corresponding degrees, diplomas, and certificates of other universities in Pakistan. The main campus of the University is located at a beautiful hill station with its majestic multi-storied buildings at Nerian Sharif (Tararkhal), Azad Jammu, and Kashmir. The main campus spreads over 10 acres of land and is situated at about 6,000 feet above sea level. It has enchanting surroundings with spellbinding and a fascinating natural environment. Nigerian Sharif is situated to the North East of Islamabad at a distance of 125km. Unlike other universities in public and private sectors, the MIU has adopted a unique system of examination giving due weightage to internal and external evaluation. This has been done after careful consideration to minimize the drawbacks of both internal and external examination systems.
Mohi-ud-Din Islamic University (MIU) was established for the cause of creative, dignified individuals, proud of their heritage and free from any complexes. Its mission is to produce quality professionals and highly skilled human capital in all fields of education for the welfare of humanity in general and Muslim Ummah in particular.
We visualize producing a highly educated class of people committed to the cause of the well-being and prosperity of mankind.
The Mohi-Ud-Din Islamic University Nerian Sharif AJ&K was established with the sole aim to provide quality education to its students. The main focus of its attention is to produce highly talented youth at minimum expenses involved in their training as highly skilled professionals in modern education and technology.
