Ukrainian higher educational establishment with 97 years of history, which predetermined the development of Ukraine's national economy by its educational and scientific activities, trained more than 150 thousand experts in economics and trade, which was and remained the robust research and educational center.
Having recognized the achievements in students' training and connected with the 50th anniversary of its founding in 1970, the University was awarded the Diploma of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Ukrainian SSR.
For significant contributions to the development of Ukrainian higher education, the University was awarded: by the International Personnel Academy with the Order "Poshana" ("Honor") (2002), within the framework of the International Academic Rating "Golden Fortune" – with the Silver Stella and Diploma of Quality (2003), with the silver medal of "10 years of Independence of Ukraine", with the Order of "Svyatiy Dmytro Solunskiy" ("Saint Demetrios of Solun"), with the bronze medal on the results of VIII International exhibition of educational establishments "Modern education-2005".
The priorities of the international activity of the DonNUET are internationalization of education and the search for new forms of international cooperation, assisting the harmonization of Ukrainian and European education, improving the quality of the educational process. DonNUET is a member of international educational associations: the institution "Great Charter of Universities," International Association of Commerce and Economic Education, the Association "Eurasian Economic Club of scientists." Due to the complicated socio-political situation in the east of Ukraine and the continuation of the armed conflict in the city of Donetsk, according to the Decree of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine №1178 of 17 October 2014, DonNUET carries out its activities in the city of Kryvyi Rih.
University Development Strategy for 2016-2020 envisages improving the quality of specialists training on the ground of responsibility intensification of students and the educational institution for learning outcomes introduction of new educational programs, courses, training, disciplines development of material and technical base expanding of areas of fundamental and applied research support of student government.
