To keep the pillars of our civilization healthy into the future, we need to keep the underlying spirit of service alive by taking care of our weakest and oldest members and preparing for the upcoming changes that will take place in our societies.
Our University is expanding into new fields to address the needs of a constantly changing society and reach out across the borders to work together for a better world. Getting to know each other will better further the ultimate goal of harmony and altruism
We started very humbly as a college in 1966. Following our dreams, our institution has grown into a well known and respected university trying to achieve excellence with a strong desire to continue developing.
The joy of health and the compassion that arises from sorrow is the source of energy that will unlock your inner potential. We want to invite you to consider Takasaki University of Health and Welfare as your University of choice when selecting to study in Japan. Beginning in 2011, we are welcoming international students to come and experience living to their fullest. Takasaki is waiting to make you feel at home.
Takasaki University of Health and Welfare established the Child and Family Support Center in 2005 to support children and their families' health. Since then, the Center has been working to tackle mental and physical health issues through consultations with pediatricians, psychiatrists, nurses, clinical psychologists, social workers, and childcare specialists.
This program started in April 2006; all parents and children who can visit the Center are welcome to attend. Sessions are held from Monday to Thursday, twice a month on alternate weeks from 10:30 to 12:00. They are divided into five or six groups of parents with pre-kindergarten children aged 0 to 3. At these sessions, parents and children enjoy seasonal songs, exercises, and creative activities, as well as sharing a lunch box before going home. During the lunch break, a selected professional such as a psychologist, pediatrician, family health specialist, childcare specialist, or a mental health and welfare specialist will deliver a concise lecture related to their specialty, after which parents can follow up with questions or other inquiries about child-rearing issues among others. This program is one of the core activities of the Center. It has been shown that mothers who have participated in this Parent and Child Classroom have experienced, among other benefits, a significant mood improvement.
International students who passed the Japanese Exchange Test and enrolled in Takasaki University of Health and Welfare are eligible for a scholarship that covers 30% of the annual tuition and enjoy the regular benefits granted to regular students.
