As modern society is becoming increasingly diversified and interdependent due to rapid internationalization and computerization, the international community has begun to seek a new world order based on respect for humanity and the global environment. The advance of information and telecommunication technology is creating an information-intensive society where the world can be connected instantly through communication networks, necessitating the rebuilding of systems in science, politics, the economy, and all other areas.

Kyushu Sangyo University (KSU) declares as its philosophy that it promotes self-awareness as a citizen and the spirit of the middle path and establishes practicality-oriented academic traditions. In contrast, KSU aspires to foster human resources that can take leadership in society with a broad perspective, unbound spirit, and keen judgment. This philosophy is essential to realize our founding ideal -the unification of industry and academia - which we pursue in our firm belief that industry and academia must be unified to interactively work like two wheels of a vehicle to meet the times' societal needs.

Based on this philosophy and ideal, we aim to realize education, focusing on the following:

• Develop students' creativity, and encourage them to learn both theory and its practical application in a balanced way.
• Promote students' understanding of diversified cultures around the world and Japanese culture, and develop their sensitivity to interact with each culture.
• Please pay attention to the Asia-Pacific region as a whole by taking advantage of our location in Kyushu.

Today, enterprises in all areas demand independent and productive individuals who do more than wait for the future to arrive. Kyushu Sangyo University believes in the importance of taking action and putting ideas into practice. It is a place of learning and growth, where students can contribute practically to our society. As relationships with Asia and other nations worldwide are becoming increasingly closer, the role of KSU's international exchange programs is also becoming increasingly important. Since its opening in April 1999 to deal with globalization, the Center for International Affairs has been the university's primary organization for promoting a wide range of international exchange activities, including receiving international students, administration of exchange student programs, and exchange agreements with overseas universities. KSU, where many international students are studying, offers opportunities to experience cross-cultural interaction daily, especially with exchange partner universities.

KSU is actively involved in various activities, such as academic student exchange programs, friendship exchanges among students, and cultural and sports exchanges. Through KSU's annual overseas training program, many students visit private enterprises, universities, and museums throughout Europe, the U.S., and Southeast Asia every year, broadening their international perspectives.
