Created in 1966, INSA Rennes is a member of the INSA Group, the leading French network of state graduate and postgraduate engineering schools, composed of 6 schools in France, seven partner schools, and one international INSA in Morocco.
With six laboratories of international renown, three technological platforms, and numerous industrial partners, INSA Rennes stands out for two poles of excellence: Information &Communication Science &Technologies / Materials, Structures & Mechanics.
With almost 1800 students, INSA Rennes is a prestigious "Grande Ecole," a graduate and postgraduate school of sensible proportions. INSA Rennes delivers high-level scientific training conforming to the highest official European standards: Masters in engineering / Masters by research / Doctorates (Ph.D.).
Subsidized by the state, INSA engineer training is accessible to students from all social backgrounds.
INSA Renne's engineers have excellent employment potential, finding their first job within 1.2 months on average (2014 graduates). 50% of the students are even recruited before graduating.
INSA-Rennes is a founding member of the INSA Group, which comprises six engineering colleges in the following large regional capitals: Centre-Val de Loire, Lyon, Rennes, Rouen, Strasbourg, and Toulouse.
The INSA Group, this is also three partner institutes and one institute in Fès, Morocco: INSA Euro-Mediterranean.
As part of an exchange program, international students can come and study for one or two semesters. Alternatively, there is also the option of following the traditional curriculum to obtain the INSA Engineering or Research Master.
The first two years of study at INSA Rennes are based on a core curriculum designed for all engineering students. It also gives them the knowledge of human sciences vital for anybody wishing to choose one of 7 masters of engineering.
They are proposed to students registered at partner universities (available from 4th year). Students at universities listed below, which are partnered with INSA Rennes or the INSA Group, can already study for two international degrees, both recognized in the European Union.
As soon as an exchange program application has been validated, there are a few administrative formalities to be undertaken with the International Office at INSA Rennes.
INSA Rennes and ENSAI, The National School for Statistics and Data Analysis in France, are pleased to present an exciting and unique new study abroad opportunity for students from your university.
The INSA/ENSAI French Summer School allows students to come to Rennes from May 28 to June 22, 2018, to learn about France and its culture while also learning how to speak the language. It is just 85 minutes west of Paris via the TGV high-speed train and boasts multiple direct flights to Europe's international hubs in Paris, Amsterdam, Madrid, and Rome.
The cost of the program, just 2000 euros, includes accommodation, classes, and cultural outings. Students must cover the cost of meals but can buy a meal pass for the university restaurant (under 5 euros per meal) or cook their meals in their residence hall kitchen.
French language classes are taught by professionally trained and certified French as a Foreign Language teacher. An Introduction to French Culture class is taught in English to ensure that everyone gets the most out of the classes, regardless of their French level.
