In total, there are 74 courses, from undergraduate to doctorate/ specialists. The total number of students is 24,801, coming from inside and outside the province of North Sulawesi. An international class has allowed the students to learn from other countries through collaboration between universities. To provide the best educational services, we continue to encourage and open up opportunities for professors to improve their academic qualifications as high as possible. Currently, the number of lecturers with doctorate qualifications has reached 40%, and those who have professional status (including professors) by 65%, and will continue to grow. The quality assurance system in education continues to be a priority; at a minimum national standards are met while exceeding many possible character standards. The field of research and public services continue to improve their Quality of service with various measurable efforts. Holistically, higher education governance continues to be prioritized to continue to demonstrate high efficiency and accountability. As a university of excellence and full of culture, improvement in all areas and academic services is our key focus. Therefore, the independence of management on campus is of utmost importance, specifically the movement of Unsrat towards BLU. After Indonesia's independence was achieved, the dreams of raising the Quality of education and people's tendency to achieve higher education began growing. In the 1950s, the region's higher education institutions began to manifest themselves, answering each area's needs. The dream of establishing a college or state university in Manado, which was viewed as the center of government and the activities for Central and North Sulawesi, is said to have been initiated by the University Pinaesaan, which was established on October 1, 1954, in Tondano. University Penaesaan had only had one Department at the time, the Faculty of Law. Together with the University Permesta, founded on September 23, 1957, in Manado, the University of Pinaesaan was an early formation of the future development of The University of Sam Ratulangi. Having two universities with private status did not satisfy the needs/desires of the local citizens. Therefore, at the initiative of the people of Central and North Sulawesi (the local military, civilian, and scholarly leaders), came together with great determination to realize the establishment of a state-run university in the area, which was expected to be the pride of the Community in general and the people of Central and North Sulawesi in particular. Vision Unsrat is a long-term vision and dynamic that understands that excellent Quality is relative to time and conditions and flexibly applies to the national and international coverage area. Gradually excellent conditions that will be achieved first is to realize the governance and governance of an effective and efficient as a basis for realizing the excellent conditions of the process of organizing higher education so that subsequently can be produced an excellent condition of the outcome (output ) and the long-term impact ( outcome ) of higher education products in Unseat. This vision will continue to be fought for as long as Unsrat exists. For the development of Unsrat through RENSTRA 2016-2020, Unsrat's current management put forward the vision of " Becoming a Superior and Cultured University "as part of phasing to realize Unsrat's long-term vision above which has been stated in Unsrat's statute document.
