Janabadra University is located in Yogyakarta, a student and cultural town in the heart of Java Island, Indonesia. It was established in 1958, thirteen years after Indonesia's independence, and became one of the country's oldest universities. The university was founded by a group of Indonesia's independence leaders and intellectuals, based on nationalism and patriotism.
Our university envisions being a high-achieving, future-oriented, and competitive university, with nationalism as its fundamental value. Nationalism means that the university acknowledges Indonesia's diversity (in terms of religions and ethnic groups) and the equal rights of all the citizens to pursue higher education at Janabadra University.
Janabadra University has several missions: Committed to delivering graduates with high intellectuality, professionalism, leadership, and nationalism spirit to develop the nation. Conduct researches and community services to contribute to science and sustainable development. Disseminate knowledge, wisdom, and technology to improve the nation's social welfare and the world in a broader sense.
Janabadra University has approximately 3000 student body and 120academic staff within its four faculties Faculty of Economics (undergraduate and graduate programs), Faculty of Engineering (undergraduate and graduate programs), Faculty of Law (undergraduate and graduate programs), Faculty of Agriculture (undergraduate program).
The University of Janabadra is an institution of educational struggle and organized by the Janabadra Foundation of Higher Education, based in Yogyakarta, with the foundation of Pancasila and the 1945 Basic Law of nationalism, has nationalism and patriotism, directs its learners into intellectuals who have high moral and soul confident and able to help himself or plunge in the development of nation and state. At first, named Janabadra College, then with Law No. 22 of 1961 on "Higher Education," his name was changed and adjusted to the University of Janabadra. The name Janabadra comes from the name of a native Javanese poet who lived in the seventh century named D'NANABADRA, which further according to Indonesia's tongue to simplify his remarks to Janabadra until now.
